MARK CAMPBELL, BASS

THE LONELY ONES
(STUDIO, TOURING & LIVE)
His Grandfather was a Vaudville musician and his two older brothers are musicians, too.  With music in his blood,  Mark Campbell was destined to start playing an instrument at an early age.In grade school Mark started with playing the trombone and then the  bass by Junior High.   Inspired  musically over the years by  those he's met and many of whom he's had an opportunity to play with.  Before Joe Wood & The Lonely Ones, Mark spent 5 years playing in the Blues/jam band called Generation Blue. During the years prior, he was living in San Francisco and enthralled with the local blues scene...playing with SF Bay area blues artists that include Tom Rose, Lane Coker & Big Delta, Allen Vega & Blureality to name a few.

   DENNIS GREEN, KEYBOARD
1998 to current THE LONELY ONES
(STUDIO, TOURING & LIVE)
Taking up and interest in grade school, this 40-year veteran of the keyboards is inspired by the lates and the greats... Booker T, Lonnie Liston Smith, Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff.  Today, his personal style and funky solid  rhytyms add the soulful groove and "fills in the spaces" on all the Lonely Ones records including favorites like "Dark Days". Mostly self taught by older black players from Baltimore , his sound  has added flavor and soul to a number of band recordings, mostly R&B, on the east coast....Philli, Washington, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore.
As a live and studio performer in Los Angeles, Dennis Green has also played with 00Soul.

JOE WOOD, VOCALS~GUITAR~SONGWRITER

Growing up with large gatherings of family musicians, he heard the stylings of italian mandolins and horns on his mothers side and gospel singing and keyboards on his fathers.  His tutor throughout his youth was his all time favorite, the belated Uncle Trent (whom Joe pays homage to in many of his songs). With his first guitar in hand, he strummed out thoughts and imagery  into song.

TRENTON WOOD, GUITAR~SONGWRITER
Inspiration and Mentor in my Youth, my favorite Uncle Trent wrote a string of letters to me from inside the walls of prisons and jails.  His words of wisodom outlined playing the guitar, styles, chords and historical viewpoints of the blues.  His eloborate detail was awe inspiring and I hung on every word, drawing and detail.  He was a feature article called Guitars behind Bars for many of those reasons. When released from the system, I admired his low rides and beautiful women and I wanted to be just like him. Creased and greased. But, Uncle Trent never could adjust to being on the "outside". He passed in the Arizona State Penitentiary, but his style lives on.

MENTORING JOE WOOD IN THE BLUES
These are the cats that taught me everything I know about playing the blues.
BROPHY DALE, GUITARIST - HANK 'HOLLYWOOD'DELUX, DRUMMER,

TOP JIMMY~SINGER, MIKE MARTT~SONGWRITING, SCOTT LAMBERT~BASS
They each have schooled me invarious ways. Learning about  the lates and the greats of roots, our American brand of music. I wanted to play blues from the very beginning and long before I toured with TSOL.  I've always been a blues man in training. Here is some info on a few of the above....

BROPHY DALE
Brophy Dale has gained a widespread respect for his passionate of roots-rockin’ guitar and vocals. He's played all over the world, from Moscow to Melbourne, Anchorage to Zurich. lived in Texas to Africa, but now calls Southern California home.  Brophy’s first big moment came when he got to backup the late great Memphis soul singer, O.V.Wright (Nickel and a Nail) for a few gigs. The last ten years he's worked steadily with Alligator recording artist Lee Rocker, a Rockabilly/Americana cat who came to fame in the '80s as bassist for the wildly popular Stray Cats. He's recorded six records, with co-writes on the last three and been on several compilation records with Lee. He's also had the opportunity to work with some of his heroes, which include Dave Edmunds, Delbert McClinton and a few tours with Scotty Moore. . Brophy’s playing can be heard on sound tracks for Kids, ESPN in Japan and TV show placements with Lee, on Numbers and the WB show Supernatural.

His band Top Jimmy & The Rhythm Pigs were a rock and rhythm and blues band that emerged out of the Los Angeles punk/roots music scene of the late 1970s and early-mid 1980s. On their only record, Pigus Drunkus Maximus, released in 1987 (Down There Records, distributed by Restless), D.J. Bonebrake and Tony Morales contributed drum parts, while Gene Taylor added piano. Top Jimmy got his nickname because he at one point worked at a fast-food stand called "Top Taco", located across the street from the A&M studios in Hollywood. At some point after that, he got a job working as a roadie for X, and at the end of a soundcheck one day, he sang a version of the Doors "Roadhouse Blues", which garnered the attention of the band and Doors member Ray Manzarek and led to Top Jimmy performing an encore version of the song with X and Manzarek during a May 1980 X show at the Whisky-A-Go-Go. Koncek passed away in Las Vegas in 2001.

Mike Martt, Songwriter~Vocalist~Guitar
A respected mainstay and beloved cult-figure of the Southern California music scene, this singer/songwriter/ guitarist for the critically-acclaimed Low and Sweet Orchestra (1994-1999) on Interscope records. As the former guitarist and songwriter for legendary L.A. post-punk bands such as Tex and the Horseheads & Thelonious Monster, he gained widespread acclaim with his Low and Sweet Orchestra on Interscope records. Martt's bittersweet ruminations are an extension of the  finely-tuned work he did with Low and Sweet. Picture a blend of songsmiths like Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle or James Talley and you'll understand the style he eminates

His music has been backed by some of the finest players in music industry today. including Martyn LeNoble on bass, Lucinda Williams on guitar, Joe Strummer(Circle Jerks, The Weirdos), Benmont Tench (The Tom Petty Keyboardist) Andy Kamman (Peter Himmelman) on drums and back-up singers and players Will Sexton and Kristen Vigard (Red Hot Chili Peppers) have all contributed to his recent works. Martt has collaborated with other premier songwriters for the many of his own tracks tracks including Jeff Trott ("If It Makes You Happy", Sheryl Crow's hit single).
